DESCRIPTION:
Small, elongated dark red to purple fruit. Flesh is yellow, firm and juicy with a very sweet flavour, freestone.
MATURITY:
Mid to Late February (Late season).
SUGGESTED POLLINATORS:
Prune Robe de Sergeant, Coe’s Golden Drop and Green Gage Plum.
COMMENTS:
Used for fresh fruit, preserves and jam very commonly used for dried fruit, when dried Prunes have very high levels of antioxidants, fibre, iron and vitamin A and C. Spreading tree bearing good crops, staking support when young.
TREE CARE:
Plant in a sunny position with well drained and well worked soil. Take care to plant the bud union above the soil level. Water in well and keep soil moist until tree is established. Fertilise when planting and again after new growth appears. Prune tree when planting to encourage new growth.
