DESCRIPTION:

Heavy crop of long red to black berries, when fully ripe the fruit is very sweet and juicy with an unusual slightly acid taste.

COMMENTS:

Used in jams, fresh fruit, and also wines and juices. This is a medium growing tree with very good crops. The leaves can also be used as feed for silk worms.

TREE CARE:

Plant in a sunny position with well drained and well worked soil. Take care to plant the bud union above the soil level. Water in well and keep soil moist until tree is established. Fertilise when planting and again after new growth appears in Spring. Annual pruning is required as fruit is produced on new season’s growth.
