Copper Beech

FEATURES:

The Copper Beech is one of the most beautiful of all trees and is an asset to any garden, farm or park. In Autumn, the leaves fall to reveal an elegant branch structure and smooth, silvery-grey bark.

15 m x 10 m

SHAPE:

Will eventually grow to a large size, but will usually only reach the 15 meters within twenty years.

FOLIAGE:

Rich Coppery-purple foliage, In Spring, new foliage is semi-weeping. Frost tolerant.

COMMENTS:

Plant full sun, requires a sheltered position and is not tolerant of exposed sites or coastal conditions. Mulch well, Slow-medium growth, low maintenance.

TREE CARE:

Plant in a well drained and well worked soil. Take care to plant the bud union above the soil level. Water in well and keep soil moist until tree is established. Fertilize when planting and again after new growth appears. Prune tree when planting to encourage new growth.
