DESCRIPTION:
This is the most common variety of Nashi fruit grown in Australia; it is also know as 20th Century. Medium sized round fruit with greenish yellow skin and crisp white juicy flesh, it has a mild flavour and smooth texture. Grows to a height of approximately 2 -2.5m at maturity.
MATURITY:
Early March (Mid season).
SUGGESTED POLLINATORS:
Williams Bon Chretien, Chojuro. Can also be partially self fertile.
COMMENTS:
This variety has good keeping qualities, and is eaten fresh. Low chill variety suitable for more temperate climates.
TREE CARE:
Plant in a sunny position with well drained and well worked soil. Take care to plant the bud union above the soil level. Water in well and keep soil moist until tree is established. Fertilise when planting and again after new growth appears. Prune tree when planting to encourage new growth.
