Golden Poplar

FEATURES:

The Golden Poplar is a popular shade tree growing to a height of 15 metres. It has golden yellow foliage in Spring and early Summer, turning a yellowish green and then back to golden yellow in Autumn.

COMMENTS:

Often used as wind breaks or on long driveways and in parks. Tolerant to most soil types, air pollution and coastal conditions. Plant in well drained soil in full sun. Can have an invasive root system. This budded variety won’t sucker.

TREE CARE:

Plant in a well drained and well worked soil. Take care to plant the bud union above the soil level. Water in well and keep soil moist until tree is established. Fertilize when planting and again after new growth appears. Prune tree when planting to encourage new growth.
