DESCRIPTION:

Vallis Clausa (PBR)

The only variety of plane tree resistant to this fungus is the Platanus PLATANOR® “Vallis Clausa”, A deciduous tree of horticultural origin, with an ovoid crown. It produces a dense and cool shade. The trunk is characterized by its light green and ochre hues, becoming detached in small patches. The leaves are palmated, of a light green colour, brown in the autumn.

FLOWERS:

The fruit, hanging, round and hairy, comes out at the beginning of the autumn and stays on the tree all winter.

COMMENTS:

Resistant to Anthracnose and Powdery mildew. It is also resistant to Lace Bug damage.   A hardy tree that will withstand frosts once established.

TREE CARE:

Plant in a well drained and well worked soil. Take care to plant the bud union above the soil level. Water in well and keep soil moist until tree is established. Fertilize when planting and again after new growth appears. Prune tree when planting to encourage new growth.
