DESCRIPTION:

Selected for superior autumn foliage colour, this attractive tree with deeply incised leaves is excellent as a specimen for larger parks and gardens or as a street and avenue tree where space permits. Broadly pyramidal when young. Broad rounded and wide-spreading on a massive trunk when older. Eventually becoming a large tree. Best in moist, well drained, fertile soil in full sun.

FOLIAGE:

Rich green that turns orange-red in autumn.

FRUIT:

2-6 seed balls.

COMMENTS:

Hairs on the fruits and leaves can be irritating to the nose, eyes and throat for some.

TREE CARE:

Plant in a well drained and well worked soil. Take care to plant the bud union above the soil level. Water in well and keep soil moist until tree is established. Fertilize when planting and again after new growth appears. Prune tree when planting to encourage new growth.
