Coral Bark or Senkaki Maple

FEATURES:

Sango Kaku’s bright coral coloured bark is one of many outstanding features of this maple. At times the bark colour becomes almost fluorescent, very evident during the Winter months. It is a small multi-stemmed tree with upright branching. Light green foliage turns beautiful yellow orange tones during Autumn.

FOLIAGE:

The leaf colour is a striking light green which looks even brighter set upon the beautiful coral coloured bark. The leaves turn a yellow-golden colour in Autumn. Leaves have 5-7 lobes and are finely serrated.

COMMENTS:

Outstanding coloured bark makes this plant interesting even during winter months and an excellent choice for night lighting. Thrives in partial shade and moist soil.

TREE CARE:

Plant in a well drained and well worked soil. Take care to plant the bud union above the soil level. Water in well and keep soil moist until tree is established. Fertilize when planting and again after new growth appears. Prune tree when planting to encourage new growth.
