FEATURES:

This is a slow growing tree with a spreading habit. Green foliage turns beautiful Autumn tones in a range of oranges and reds. It produces pear shaped fruit with a brown rough outer which has to be fully ripe to be eaten, usually after Winter frosts, and is often used for preserves. Single white flowers (similar to apple blossom) appear in Spring.

COMMENTS:

An attractive small tree with a semi-weeping habit. Self fertile.

TREE CARE:

Plant in a well drained and well worked soil. Take care to plant the bud union above the soil level. Water in well and keep soil moist until tree is established. Fertilize when planting and again after new growth appears. Prune tree when planting to encourage new growth.
