Standard Crab Apple

DESCRIPTION:

Grown on a standard to 2 meters, this is a small rounded tree with long semi-pendulous branches. The single flowers start as bright crimson pink buds, opening to soft pink and white. The stamens are a contrasting light yellow. These beautiful flowers are produced in abundance, entirely covering the graceful branches.

Green foliage changing to golden in Autumn.

FLOWERS:

Crimson pink buds opening to pale pink and fade to white single blossom with a faint perfume. The stamens are a contrasting light yellow. Flowers in mid Spring.

COMMENTS:

A very attractive tree when in full bloom, Suitable for most gardens. Insignificant, small crab apples are produced.

TREE CARE:

Plant in a well drained and well worked soil. Take care to plant the bud union above the soil level. Water in well and keep soil moist until tree is established. Fertilize when planting and again after new growth appears. Prune tree when planting to encourage new growth.
