DESCRIPTION:

This is a horizontally branched form of Hawthorn grafted onto a standard. This small tree is rounded in form when young and spreading as it matures. A very hardy tree, ideal for small gardens.

SHAPE:

Spreading, grafted on to a standard.

FOLIAGE:

Narrow, glossy dark green, turning gold to red in Autumn.

FLOWERS:

Clusters of pretty, cup-shaped white flowers with pink anthers appear in Summer, followed by inedible bright red fruits.

COMMENTS:

Plant in full sun or part shade in well drained soil. Frost hardy.

TREE CARE:

Plant in a well drained and well worked soil. Take care to plant the bud union above the soil level. Water in well and keep soil moist until tree is established. Fertilize when planting and again after new growth appears. Prune tree when planting to encourage new growth.
