Golden Bean Tree

FEATURES:

This variety is the golden foliage form of the Indian Bean Tree. It has very large golden-yellow heart shaped leaves which turn almost completely light green by the time the flowers appear. In late Spring/early Summer the tree has creamy white trumpet flowers, the throat has spots of purple and yellow and they are formed in open pyramidal spikes. This is then followed by long bean like green pods, changing to brown.

FOLIAGE:

FLOWERS:

A creamy white trumpet flower, the throat has spots of red and yellow and they are formed in open pyramidal spikes. This is then followed by long bean like pods, changing from to brown.

COMMENTS:

An impressive shade tree, suitable for medium to large gardens or avenue planting. Plant in well drained soil in full sun, requires acid soil and prefers warm temperate climate. Not wind tolerant.

TREE CARE:

Plant in a well drained and well worked soil. Take care to plant the bud union above the soil level. Water in well and keep soil moist until tree is established. Fertilize when planting and again after new growth appears. Prune tree when planting to encourage new growth.
