Lollipop Birch

DESCRIPTION:

Lollipop(PBR)

A dwarf growing form of the Silver Birch, produced on a standard to form a distinct garden feature. Slow growing tight branches form a rounded ball atop of the silver white trunk of a Birch, creating the look of a “Lollipop”(PBR).

HEIGHT x WIDTH:

The head will grow to approx. 1 metres x 1 metres in 5 years.

SHAPE:

Globe shaped head.

FOLIAGE:

Green, serrated, diamond shaped leaves which turn yellow in Autumn.

FLOWERS:

Pale green catkins during Spring.

COMMENTS:

Ideal for formal plantings and suitable to be grown in large containers. Growth rate of 200mm per year, easily maintained requiring little or no pruning to keep its shape.

TREE CARE:

Plant in a well drained and well worked soil. Take care to plant the bud union above the soil level. Water in well and keep soil moist until tree is established. Fertilize when planting and again after new growth appears. Prune tree when planting to encourage new growth.
